Responsibilities:
Orthodontists are doctors who specialize in the treatment of teeth. They not only treat teeth problems, but they have to be good at making dental appliances well. They have to take the patients teeth impression and make dental aids like retainers, bridges, space maintainers etc. In addition, these doctors have to maintain reports and x-rays of each patient, should be experts at handling all the tools and should also be adept at making dental aids, and have to keep a regular check on their patients.
Education:
In order to achieve becoming an orthodontist you must first need to study science at the undergraduate level or they can get a bachelor's degree in science, then clear the Dental Admission Test ,and finally get a degree from a good dental school.
Skills Required:
An Orthodontist need to be skillful while handling tooth problems, as they can be extremely painful. The level of pain felt during teeth problems is compared to labor pains; hence, they have to be extra careful. This is an important requirement of the orthodontist job description. Active listening skills , these doctors need full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
